This voyage is for diehards who've dreamt their whole lives of crossing the Atlantic by sailing ship or for those of us who no longer want to fly. An adventure of a lifetime! Imagine entering New York, powered by the wind in your sails.

There'll be no deckchairs and waiters serving cocktails on this crossing, however. On the contrary, you'll be expected to actively assist the ships's experienced crew – there and back! Previous sailing experience isn't required, as the crew will teach you all the ropes, but an eagerness and willingness to learn is essential. There'll be twenty-two people on board, so it'll be important we form a close-knit team as quickly as possible. On voyages like these, you'll typically form friendships that will last a lifetime.

We'll be sailing day and night in shifts. When you're on duty, you and your watch will be responsible for sailing the the ship. Once your shift ends, you can sleep or simply enjoy the voyage.

There's nothing quite as magical as being out on the ocean at night – the entire Milky Way reveals itself to you and lights up the night sky. Because there's no light pollution, you'll be able to see far more stars with the naked eye than you've ever seen before.

These days, we’re coming to associate the world’s oceans with ‘plastic soup’, but fortunately there’s still a lot of beauty to behold. After all, our oceans remain our planet’s largest nature reserve. A chance encounter with whales is something you’ll never forget. Porpoises swimming alongside the yacht and schools of flying fish darting in and out of the waves will leave a lasting impression.

Sailing on the ocean’s slow swell and heave is thoroughly relaxing – waves can measure anywhere up to a mile in length. After a few days, everyone on board will have found their rhythm, by which time there’ll be ample opportunity to behold the beauty of the sea and immerse yourself in a good book or a conversation with your fellow passengers.

As a guest crew, you’ll be learning the ropes and all of the onboard safety procedures, in a extensive briefing when you embark the ship. We’ll be sailing the as a team and head for New York!

The ship we’ll be sailing is purpose-built for sail training – you’ll be involved in sailing and navigating the ship as much as you like. We’ll be sailing during the day and at night, all guestcrew is assigned to watches. We are looking for active, curious, open minded adventure seekers. Forget comfy deckchairs you can lounge around in on deck. So, stop reading now if this is what you’re looking for – this is simply not a voyage for you!

But …

  • if you’re looking for good, old-fashioned adventure on the high seas,

  • if you’re up for accomplishing a major achievement together with a highly motivated team,

  • if you want to know what it’s like to ride a wave at the Atlantic Ocean,

  • if you want to experience the exhilaration of sighting
land after being at sea for a few weeks,

  • if you’d like to find out what it would have been like to
be on board during a Pilgrimage, or how it felt to be
Christopher Columbus, Thor Heyerdahl, or any of the
    other great explorers,

… then this is your chance!
