The ship is moored at Paramaribo, time to get on board. We set sail towards Nieuw Nickerie, a journey of nearly a day. It’s possible to make a short stop along the way. The passengers on our journeys are encouraged to take part in the discussions around our itinerary. Share your ideas with the crew and where possible, we will fit them in. Together, we create an unforgettable journey!

Nieuw Nickerie is the third biggest city in Suriname and our final stop before crossing over to the Caribbean. This is our last chance to enjoy Suriname culture in one of its many bars Alternatively, you could visit the protected natural area of Bigi Pan. Bigi Pan is home to many rare bird species, such as the scarlet ibis.

The trip from Nieuw Nickerie to Tobago takes two to three days. This former pirates’ nest was also called the hidden island, because for a long time, it was hidden from the (Western) world. The island has been inhabited for at least 7000 years, though. The name means tobacco. Daniel Defoe’s Robinson Crusoe was situated on Tobago. Although this island is an absolute paradise for nature enthusiasts, tourism is not as developed as on other Caribbean islands. The north shore boasts beautiful palm beaches and lone bays where we are the only anchored ship. The south shore lays claim to one of the most beautiful diving and snorkling spots of the Caribbean: the Buccoo Reef. Our first stop is Scarborough, though, for clearance. Before sailing on to Grenada, we may visit the uninhabited islands east of Tobago.

The sail to Grenada takes about 10 hours. Grenada was discovered in 1498 by Columbus. The island is largely covered by tropical rainforest and small streams crisscross through the mountainsides, fed by sources and ending in dazzling waterfalls. Grenada is known for its nutmeg, that also finds its way to the locally concocted cocktails.
Granada is surrounded by a wealth of tropical fish and shipwrecks, making it a diving and snorkling paradise.
